The sky is heavy and full of ominous grey overhead, it seems these storms will be with us for a few days. Although this morning the rain holds off and we get to walk around. We head out to 5th Avenue and wander up town to 59th, looking in a few shops on the way. We cross at 59th and walk along it to the other side of Central Park, reaching Columbus Circle. We spend some time in the Time Warner Centre at Columbus Circle.

The Time Warner Centre is the closest thing you’ll get to a shopping centre in New York. Over a number of levels there are shops, eateries and pleasant areas to sit, with a smattering of weird art in places – including two large nude statues. Weird!

We wander to the top and work our way back down. Per Se is also located here, a world renowned fine dining restaurant we may visit one day! We reach the bottom and descend into the wholefoods supermarket area. A vast underground area with aisles of fresh produce: gorgeous fruit and veggies, cheeses, meats and other delicacies. We buy some cup cakes and sit upstairs and enjoy them as we rest for a while.

We then wander the streets for a while., mostly across from 7th Avenue to Sixth Avenue. At 56th we come across the famous LOVE sculpture. We stop for photos. We continue walking and taking some photos of the architecture in this neck of the woods.

We wander in and out of shops, some familiar from a previous visit, GAP, Nike, Sephora, J Crew and others we explore with fresh eyes. The one thing we notice, now wandering some of these streets for the third time is how much changes in a short time. The city is forever renewing itself, with new stores replacing ones that had failed or moved. Of course some of the iconic stores remain: Tiffany and Co, Apple, Gucci, Fendi etc.

The streets are also very busy, we are on the eve of a Long Weekend in New York and the holiday seasos will soon get underway with Halloween in October and Thanksgiving in November, both just around the corner.

Our wandering eventually get us back to Times Square and our hotel.

We grab some pizza for dinner and then wander through Bryant Park. We have fun taking some silly photos in Bryant Park as we explore the pack of the Library and the buildings along 41st and 43rd Streets near 6th Avenue.

We walk back to our hotel and call it a night.
