We see Bob today. Bob, some of you may remember from 2012. We met Bob in 2012 as he offered a couple of tours. One in Chelsea and the other at Central Park.

During those tours he mentioned he also did a chocolate tour, so this year we took him up on that offer and booked a chocolate tour with him.

Bob takes us on a chocolatey mystery tour. We visit Kee’s, Mariebelle’s, Max Brenner and Vosges as we sample a variety of chocolates, drinks and truffles. It’s a delightful few hours walking around. Bob also points out a host of interesting sights as we wend our around Soho and Greenwich.

After the tour we part ways and head home with our stash of chocolates.

We have a mid afternoon break, eat some chocolate and dress up for a nice dinner out, Keen’s Steakhouse. Quite possibly the best steak in New York. Keen’s is located in an old pipe room. The ceiling is lined with pipes, the smoking kind. Each pipe has a name attached. Back in the day you would leave your pipe and tobacco here and when you felt like a pipe with mates, you’d venture to this establishment for an afternoon of smoking pipes and drinking fine whiskey. Whereas the owners of the pipes are long gone, their memory lives on here today. The walls ae also lined with photos from the time and a range of interesting images, cartoons and anecdotes.

All that aside, how was the steak? Delicious. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth Grade A. We spend a couple of hours just enjoying the succulent meal, sides and dessert.

After dinner we walk to the Rockefeller Centre and wander around. We sit for a while and watch the ice skaters, before calling it a night.
