Today is all about Radio City Music Hall and the Rockettes.

In the morning we enjoy a tour of the hall. We walk the hallways, visit the sound booth, under the stage and behind the stage. We see the stage from all vantage points and explore the artwork littered throughout the venue showcasing the rich history of this famous music hall. It is a fascinating tour.

We also get to meet a Rockette! We get our photograph taken with the dancer and chat to her about the role she plays, her training regimen and the importance of the Rockettes and the showcase they perform each year at Christmas.

After the tour we wander the streets for a while, we haven’t done a lot of exploring in this part of town, so we walk 40th and 41st street and look around.

One thing about New York, there is always something to see and do. We could visit ten times and we wouldn’t see everything!.

We go back to the hotel for a while and have a quiet afternoon. We are so inspired by our visit that we buy tickets to see the spectacular. We are in luck there are tickets for tonight’s show. Mardi buys them online and we think about somewhere for dinner, the show isn’t until 8.00pm. We stay local and enjoy a quick meal on 45th Street.

We head up to the music hall again.

The show starts on time and we are bedazzled by the precision of the dancers who perform a range of movements in perfect unison. The show has a Christmas theme and showcases New York. We are buoyed by the music and up beat tempo of the show and have a great night.

We head home after the show in a very Christmassy mood!
