After a lazy morning and quick trip to Bergdof Goodman to check out some pre thanksgiving and Black Friday sales, we headed down to Greenwich village for tea at Bosie.

Bosie is our favourite place to sit and just absorb this wonderful place.

Nestled away in the windy streets to Greenwich, you won’t find this place on any tourist map. Bosie is a tiny little tea Parlour, maybe 13 tables and four of five spots at the counter. They basically only serve tea and high tea. We always have the high tea. Six varieties of sandwich, two macarons each, a couple of tiny cookies, a piece of cake and two scones to finish.

We always try and get the little table at the back, it has lounge chairs instead of wooden seats. This week Miguel, the owner, set it up for us, the regulars from Australia.

We sit, chat and enjoy the service and watch the world pass by.

Miguel pops over and we chat about tea, business and thanksgiving.

We enjoy another pot of tea and an eclair.

Before we know it, it’s after 4. We decide to leave this little oasis and wander to Washington square park and union square, via Nars, a cosmetic favourite of Mardi’s.

After a quick stop in to Nars on Bleecker street we walk to Washington square park. Where Fifth avenue starts the arch built to honour Washington, where looking north you can see the Empire State Building, and looking out you can see the freedom tower.

We stop and take some photos, a man yells “she said yes”, a successful proposal is pulled off and cameras click.

Dozens of police assemble as a protest is getting underway. We leave the square and walk to union square through the residential part of Greenwich. We pass a seven story townhouse for sale, later research reveals its on the market for a mere $16m. We pass another for sale sign, again later research shows a price tag of $500,000. It’s a room, with a nook kitchen. About the size of our living room at home.

We make it to union square and walk through the holiday markets for a couple of hours. Gourmet nuts, jewellery, antique subway maps, handicrafts, t-shirts, watches, decorations, scarves, hats, beef jerky and crazy cat lady things. I bought Mardi a nice birthday gift and we enjoyed a nice night walking around.

After our walk we hit the subway and headed home.

We had dinner in and tried to get an early night. Tomorrow, Thanksgiving, was an early start, the hotel has invited selected guests to a parade breakfast at their sky suite at the Central Park hotel.

So we went to bed early. About an hour later Mardi woke me and we could smell smoke. After searching we realized the people in the room next door, who were partying a bit were smoking. It’s a no smoking hotel and it was stinky. We rang reception to let them know.

That did the trick, or so we thought.

About two hours later we were again woken with the strong scent of cigarette smoke, coupled with shrieks of laughter and music. We again ran reception. The whole floor smelt.

That did the trick.

Our early night was now shot to pieces so we managed on about three hours sleep.
