A day of packing, catching up with Bob and one last burger before we head off to the airport.

The rain continued as we rose early to finish the massive task of packing.

Living somewhere for a month doesn’t mean you buy or accumulate more, but you are more entrenched than if you visit so where for a week. So we had a lot of sorting out to do, washing, packing up and making sure we had everything together.

Bob popped in for an hour or so and it was greats see him and chat. He’s off to DC soon for a tour guide conference, which sounded really interesting.

We go on with packing, Bob was kind enough to hold onto a couple of items fir us girls when we return, which lightened our load a little.

We finished the task and were on our way around 2pm after grabbing a shake shack burger for lunch. The trip to the airport took around an hour and check in went smoothly. We were seated in the lounge waiting for departure just before 4pm, in plenty of time for our 6pm flight. A slight delay out of LA. The flight to LA was quick and we arrived in perfect timing to board the next leg. No waiting around st LA, perfect. We got away on time and arrived into Melbourne at 9am, right on time. A great flight, we were really lucky and scored smother upgrade to first class. A perfect end to a wonderful trip. The crew was great and we both managed a good amount if sleep, the champagne helped.

We transferred smoothly in Melbourne and boarded a out 30 minutes late. Then a further delay as baggage loading delayed us further. Then a further delay as runways changed mid taxi and a queue of aircraft grew to get out of Melbourne. Amazing, two long haul international flights totaling 24 hours and we are delayed by a couple of hours on the last skip home.

We made it, all bags in tact and got home to our gorgeous animals and house. Traveling is so much fun and we love NYC. Getting home at the end of a big trip is great as you unpack and rediscover the trip as you look at photos and various pieces of ephemera collected along the way.
