After a great nights sleep I headed out for a quick walk while Mardi took it easy. When I got back we meandered down to breakfast.
What to have? Eggs, toast, dumplings, fruit, muffins, donuts. Just too much choice. We sat an ate for an hour or so.
We then headed off for a day of shopping. We walked to Austin Street and Nathan Road and wandered the streets for a few hours. From tiny hole in the wall shops to the designer brands, there is something for everyone. We picked up a few bits and pieces and spent a relaxing time in Kowloon park. A green oasis in this, the most densely populated part of the world.
The crowd thronged from side to side as we walked the streets, ducking into shops here and there. Going from humidity and heat, to the ice cold air conditioned malls as we made our way around.
A thundercloud opens up above us and we get drenched as we walk back to the hotel. As quick as it started, it’s gone again and we dry off, well almost in the post storm humidity.
We arrive back at the hotel and decide to spend the evening in the lounge. It’s busy when we arrive and we have seats with no view. Like a game of frogged, we slowly advance to the better seats, then make it to the prime seats overlooking the harbour. We settle in, champagne in hand, for a night of watching the sights go by in this amazing and mad place.
We watch the storms roll over the city lights. I play with my camera, fiddling with the exposure settings and playing with light. Eventually we leave the comfort of the lounge and head to bed.
