Our last full day in Tokyo allowed us to stay local and wander the streets in our local area.

From a cat cafe to Muji, a tempura lunch to the 100 yen shop, from the cuteness of hello kitty to the luxury of the Isatan’s food hall and goods.

We spent about an hour in the cat cafe. A tiny little two floor office space hidden away in the back of a building was where we discovered this fun space. After taking our shoes off, reading the seemingly endless terms, being shown photos of the cats and their personalities and eating requirements we were ushered in. Dozens of cats adorned every nook and cranny as we sat and patted the cutest little things ever. The cats were as cats are not fussed at all. This was their space and they did what they wanted.

After about an hour we headed off and did some more walking.

A great area with so much going on all the time. We stopped for a mid afternoon break and afternoon tea in the hotel lounge before heading out for our final night.

We ventured into the streets of Shinjuku just after dark. The tiny streets lined with restaurants, robot cafes, gaming halls and strip joints gave way to wide avenues lined with designer brands, which gave way to more tiny streets. The lights, bright. The crowds, huge. The atmosphere, rich, inviting and friendly. We walked for hours just drinking in the ebb and flow around us. We searched for a nail salon for Mardi but failed to find one, we crammed into the jam packed a Don Quijote. We walked mosaic avenue and gradually made our way back to the hotel. A great last night in this bustling metropolis.
