It’s another early start on Friday morning, 5.00am and I’m up packing and getting ready to transfer to Boston for a few days. The whole day is essentially taken up with travel as it is a five hour flight and we lose three hours on the track Eastwoods.

As I’m waiting for my taxi at around 6.00am, I’m asked by a person if I’m going to LAX. Apparently she’s been trying to book an Uber for 30 minutes without any luck and she’s worried about missing her flight. I said certainly she can share a taxi ride with me, she’s very pleased and agreed to split the fair with me. As we rode in the taxi we learnt that we were both at the Marriot for the CSUN conference, she was in document remediation, a bit of a theme for the whole conference.

As we arrive at LAX she rushes off to try and catch her flight. I grab my bags and battle my way to check in at terminal four. It’s quite busy for this time of the morning, it’s about 7:20am now. As I am waiting in the queue, I’m spotted by an American Airlines staff member or maybe I’m not spotted put my white cane is. She comes over and offers to assist me, which I genuinely appreciate. We get my bags checked in and she text me up to Security and we bypass all the queues. She then takes me to the Admirals lounge where I get some time to relax before the flight.

What are time to board have escorted to the plane and Shannon to my seat. I have to say the quality of service from American airlines is just first class.

The flight to Boston takes over six hours and with the three hours we lose on the way over, it’s after 8.00pm when I arrive. It is a fairly quick taxi ride to the hotel, about 20 minutes.

After I check in, I go for a walk, I’ve been sitting all day and I slept on the plane and didn’t eat, so I am a bit hungry. It is a quick walk from the hotel town weather at plenty of restaurants and night activity. The smell of marijuana is strong in the air as I pass groups of young kids, in their 20s, I suppose. I walk past a nightclub and again the smell of weed hangs heavy in the air. Next I pass an Apple Store, it’s closed, but dozens of people hang around outside, using the free Wi-Fi and yes, smoking their weed as well. Located just next door to the Apple store is cannabis dispensary. I was aware but Kandice is legal in Boston. And the masses are certainly enjoying it. I then locate one of my favourite burger places in the United States, shake shack. I venture inside, grab a burger and drink and sit and relax for a few minutes.

When I finish my burger, I walk back to the hotel. It’s pretty easy. I retraced my steps, basically following the scent of weed, I then get to a major intersection, crossover, and I arrive at the hotel. I hit the sack
