Niagara Falls is one of the most iconic and breathtaking natural wonders in the world, and while the falls are shared by both the United States and Canada, many argue that the Canadian side offers the best views and experiences. Well, that’s where I saw it from and it was pretty awesome. Leaving my hotel at 8.00am, my bus tour takes me directly to the falls, about a 90 minute ride.

First and foremost, the falls themselves were absolutely breathtaking. Although the end of winter and a cold, wet day, the immense power and magnitude of this natural wonder was astonishing. Our driver leaves us for three hours to explore.

Aside from the falls, there were plenty of other attractions to enjoy in the area. I took a walk along the Niagara Parkway, which offered stunning views of the river and the falls. I also checked out the Niagara Falls Tunnel: A tunnel that spans some 15KMs, but the last section is open to tourists to walk to experience the falls from beneath. I ventured some 150 feet down in a lift and then walk for around 20 minutes, where I emerge at the base of the falls. As I emerge for the tunnel the sound is deafening as the millions of litres of water continue their never ending cascade over the falls. I am soaked to the core with a combination of spray from the falls and the rain that continues to fall. I stop and stand and listen, all I can hear is the water, everything else around me is drowned out. It is as if the only thing that exists is this water fall, it envelopes all of my senses, figuratively and literally saturating me. I eventually return to the surface and seek out shelter to dry off and warm up a bit. I take in the various gift shops, sample some maple syrup and sit in a warm corner to dry off a bit.

As my visit comes to an end, I return to our bus, where we visit Niagara on the Lake. Just a short drive from Niagara Falls is the charming town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. This quaint town is known for its historic architecture, picturesque streets, and delicious wineries. I explore the quaint shops and boutiques and walk around for 30 minutes, before our coach picks us up and we head back to Toronto..

Overall, my visit to Niagara Falls was an incredible experience that exceeded all of my expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful and exciting destination with plenty to see and do.
